Betty loved the comics.
She had a sense of humor.
The first thing I did when I got the L.A. Times was to hand her the comics section.
I took the main news.
She rarely laughed loud.
I would hear a “sneaker.”
She would put her hand over her mouth, suppressing a laugh.
